Is it just me or did December fly by? It’s been a month of cozy quiet over here, embracing the darkest month of the year hunkered down at home. Here’s what’s been up…

switching to private on the gram

I go back and forth with how much of Jackson to share on social media – even how much I want to share in general – but after a spammer started an account impersonating my sister and used a pic of her and Jackson as their profile pic, I got creeped out and immediately switched my profile to private. My facebook profile is locked down so why should the gram any different? I’ll probably switch back eventually, but for now – at least until I finish my close friends list – my account’s staying private. What about you? Is your account private or public? I’d love to hear your thoughts.

donating breastmilk

I’ve been fortunate enough to have an oversupply of breastmilk – so much so that our freezer is full and there’s no way we’ll use it all. So I reached out to the Minnesota Milk Bank for Babies and am in the process of donating about 200 oz. I’m so happy to be able to donate to help other little babes and their families ♡

morning routine: coffee and pumping in bed.

happy birthday to me

I so clearly remember my parents turning 40 – my dad’s birthday featured a giant gold lion in our front yard – and now suddenly I’m 42. Time is weird. That said, this age is my favorite, but I’d love if time slowed down a little so I could savor it a bit more. Anyway, my day was lovely – the whole day with my two favorite people punctuated by a Northern Coffeeworks oat milk latte, Fruit & Grain poptart, time outside at the Northern Express, and a cozy evening at home. Wouldn’t have it any other way.

running

I’m two months into running again – meaning 20+ mile weeks – and working with my coach, and it feels so good. There’s nothing like run fitness! It’s really when I feel the best both mentally and physically. My build is nothing fancy: it’s been slow, steady and consistent – running 5 (soon to be 6) days a week at easy 9:00+ pace – exactly how you get back in shape. Nearly all my miles are done after Jackson goes to bed at 7p and most are on the treadmill because it’s convenient, safe and warm (running in the dark and cold just doesn’t interest me right now). My Sunday long run is up to 8 miles and it feels fantastic. Boston in 3.5 months!

six months old!

Somehow I blinked and Jackson’s six months old. He’s just the most fun, and we cannot imagine life without him! He’s talking up a storm (especially in his crib for 15 minutes before bed!), likes to pet Luma and Olli, is thisclose to sitting up, is still obsessed with the Jolly Jumper and Baby Bjorn, only wants to stand up, can take his paci out and put it back in, and sleeps through the night (7p bedtime, 10p dream feed, and up at 7a!). He also graduated from his CranioCap this month, and his head is so cute, round and bald (his mohawk disappeared, though 😭).

And your monthly pic of Luma and Olli, looking so adorable in their matching Stunt Puppy + Gold Paw fleece! Also, Olli’s neck roll (maybe shoulda sized up!) 😆

Run fitness really is unique. I remember when I was recovering from my broken leg and doing all the other activities and still really really missed the post run feeling.

Is Ollie bigger than Luma?? Our Ruth is such a teeny tiny peanut/runt- she’ll never be bigger than Matilda!

Very cool to be able to donate all that milk!
