6 favorite things in june 2019.

Most of my favorite things in month were from our elopement to Hawaii (more details on our entire trip soon!). Because triathlon’s pretty much taken all of my money the past few years, I really haven’t bought a whole lot of non-tri stuff. Sure, a few essential things here and there (like jeans), but never anything that wouldn’t get a ton of wear (because I’m practical – most of the time). So when we booked Kauai, I ordered a bunch of new stuff – mostly because I didn’t want to wear my lululemon speed shorts and t-shirt summer uniform when we were there! So, here are a few of those pieces that I’ve been loving this month.

Rachel Pally Rae dress

I first saw this dress months ago at Mille here in Minneapolis and was instantly obsessed. Surprising, too, because I’m not an orange fan at all. But this dress – gah! I love it so much. It’s flowy and comfortable and I just feel so damn good when I wear it. (Bonus: Rachel Pally is based and made in LA.)

Also, the best shave ice and my hunky husband ♥

L*Space swimsuits

For as much as I swim you’d think I’d be buying swimsuits all the time. Not the case – I’ve only worn my ROKA two-pieces from 2015 and no lie, they look brand new. (And that’s after nearly 2M yards. Please make those suits again, ROKA!) Anyway, it’s been years since I’ve bought a regular swimsuit (probably since Costa Rica?!), so I bought two – both from L*Space – for Hawaii. And both are fantastic. The Sandy hipster fit bottoms are the perfect amount of coverage (with no pinching or squeezing), and now I want them in all the colors. Same with the Monroe top! The Cali cut bottoms are also great, but I wish I’d sized up. These bottoms, along with the matching Mickee top, reverse to navy so bonus suit!

TKEES flip flops

As soon as it’s 60F in Minnesota, the Birks are on. And as much as I love them, I wanted some flip-flops that weren’t as clunky for Kauai. I stumbled across these TKEES on a blog I read and ordered two pairs – one in au naturale (they go with everything!) and another pink pearl metallic pair to go with my wedding dress. Pretty sure I’ve worn the nude pair every day since.

Beautycounter countersun sunscreen

Hands down the best sunscreen I’ve used (and I’m not just saying that because I’m a Beautycounter consultant). No white residue after you rub it in, it’s reef-friendly, it smells great, and it’s free of all the bad-for-you ingredients found in many other sunscreens. We went through almost an entire bottle while we were in Hawaii, and neither of us got sunburnt!

PAIGE culotte denim

I’ve long loved PAIGE denim, but I usually go for skinny jeans. Then I saw these culottes and had to have them. Raw hem, cropped, high-waist, lighter denim – perfect for summer. I’ve worn them a ton the past month and keep reaching for them.

ROKA RISE blue blockers

Not gonna lie, I was skeptical that blue blockers would actually work. But I’ve had them a couple months, and whoa – they’re game changers. My eyes aren’t nearly as tired at the end of the workday, and I’ve been sleeping like a rock. Take that, blue light! I have the Lola frame in 51 with the ZX-1 lens. There’s zero color distortion with these lenses, but in the right light, you can definitely tell they have a yellow tint (I’ve tried to take a pic with zero luck).
