sunshiny getaway in seattle.

06/20/2016

Minnesota will always be home, but the Pacific Northwest…! ♥ There’s something so magical about it – the mountains, the water, the fresh pine tree air – and every time I’m there, it’s all I can do to not just stay. West coast is the best coast (who’s with me?!)! Needless to say, since we’ve been home I’ve been trying to talk Nick into relocating, even if it’s only for a couple years 😉

With that, our sunshiny Seattle getaway highlights in photos…

Any trip to Seattle must start with coffee, obviously. First up: Fuel Coffee in Wallingford (almond milk latte deliciousness), which was within walking distance of our Airbnb. After a run (obviously) down Dunsmore and on the Burke-Gilman trail, we crammed in a few more touristy things before 2p, including brunch at Portage Bay Café, a visit to the Fremont troll and a quick walk along the water.

No trip to Seattle is a complete without brunch at Portage Bay Café (Swedish pancakes + Dungeness crab Benedict FTW!).

Rainier in all its glory!

We spent most of the weekend at Flying Horseshoe Ranch, where Nick’s childhood family friend, Kelsey married Joe (the wedding was absolutely lovely and so them!). The weekend was filled with laughter, time with family + friends, amazing food and tons of time outside. We seriously had the BEST time!

Gold Creek Pond… is it real?! Absolutely stunning – and, a great landing spot for paragliders (there were at least 15 circling overhead, with one landing right where we were standing).

Hello! I came across your blog and had to comment- I totally agree with you on how fresh the air is out in WA! The moment you step off the plane you just want to breathe it all in. We had our first daughter in WA and it was July so I totally enjoyed the walk with a new baby in a stroller.
    I miss the views!

Hi, Eri! Thanks for stopping by! You’re in Hawaii… LOVE your state! 🙂

Right?! The freshest air… and, that pine tree smell! The BEST.

I so want to go to Seattle and the PNW! I’ve always dreamed of a road trip starting in Vancouver then making our way south all the way to California to eventually visit my good friend that lives there. Looks like a fantastic, jam-packed weekend!

Sounds like you need to plan a trip across the pond 🙂

That’s my dream, too! In an Airstream! Or by bike!
