Between starting my new gig, racing IRONMAN Arizona and the holidays, the last couple months have been a whirlwind. Here’s what’s been up! (Posting this now because I realized it was still in draft form even though I wrote it ages ago. And, because I’m kinda at a loss for words today after hearing some pretty disturbing news.)
excited about
Team Coeur 2017! I’m thrilled at the opportunity to represent Coeur Sports for the fourth year! It’s not about the gear – though it’s the best on the market (seamless chamois FTW!) – but rather, what Coeur stands for: Empowered women empowering women. These women inspire me daily to always give my best, both on and off the race course. I know my teammates would say the same, too. And, when that happens, the trickle down effect – impacting all women – is pretty powerful. I’m honored to be a part of that goodness. Thank you, Coeur, for creating this community of strong women ♥
loving
Time with family. The best part about doing a late season ironman? Heading home for thanksgiving sans bike and running shoes (for the first time in five years!). Not only did it make packing a cinch – hello, one bag! – but most importantly, it gave me so much more time to spend with my family. Lazy coffee mornings turned into relaxing afternoons visiting turned into family dinners (and even one in Canada!). There’s no place like home-home.
Weekend highlights:
- Visiting Hallock’s new brewery, Revelation Ale Works, and distillery, Får North Spirits (my tiny hometown of 980 people is booming!)
- Thanksgiving dinner complete with perogies / petaha, a family tradition
- Sleeping in!
- A quick trip to Canada for dinner at Nora’s
- Shop small on Saturday (I bought a giant succulent at the greenhouse for $17!)
- Celebrating Mom + Dad’s 40th anniversary(!)
- Playing with Finley!
- Catching up with Grandma + Grandpa ♥
disappointed about
The election. WTF, folks. How is Donald Trump the president-elect?! How the f*ck is he going to be our president this month?! I’m still in disbelief. Terrible as it is – and OMG it just keeps getting worse with his cabinet appointments – it’s our responsibility to speak up and take action. We can’t let his actions and his words – take is twitter account away! – be ok. Call your representatives, get involved in your community + local government, love hard, donate to Planned Parenthood and the ACLU. Buy these awesome signs. And, stand up for your beliefs and for all people. We are all welcome here.

The truth is that our finest moments are most likely to occur when we are feeling deeply uncomfortable, unhappy, or unfulfilled. For it is only in such moments, propelled by our discomfort, that we are likely to step out of our ruts and start searching for different ways or truer answers. –M. Scott Peck

How do your parents look exactly the same after 40 years?! That’s incredible.
And co-sign on Trump. I can’t even with any of it.
Love all of this Erin! So glad to have you as a teammate! One of the many strong, amazing women on Team Coeur <3
Oh no….you had to get political in your post.
I love that quote!!
Hallock is bumping! What fun businesses to visit. Cheers!
Always love your updates, looks like an amazing time with your family ❤.
I have to agree with you about Trump… how did that happen?!? I feel ill about it every day. Loved the link you listed. I think I will buy a onesie for my little one. More love….less Trump.
