Ironman Canada is four months from today.
FOUR MONTHS.
Whoa.
Earlier this week, when I couldn’t sleep because my mind was racing, thinking about the season’s first tri (it’s next Saturday), which morphed into thinking about IMCA, I asked Nick if he thought my training volume was enough… if I was putting in enough hours on the bike (damn you, Minnesnowta, for keeping me on the trainer!), if I was swimming enough, if I was just doing enough.
Turns out my training volume is more than he was doing four months out from his first two 140.6s.
Mind (somewhat) reassured.
Tonight’s 10-mile run on the dreadmill helped to kind of quell the snippets of self-doubt, too. And, my first outdoor ride on my Argon, in aero, is Saturday.
That said, four months to go! There’s a lot of training volume ahead, a lot of long bike rides and track workouts and 3,000-yard swims.
FOUR MONTHS!
And, it’s gonna be awesome.

So exciting! And yay for getting outside on the bike now!!
I’m super excited – both about the iron{wo}man AND finally biking outside! Hope your marathon training is going well!
I’m just so excited for you! Glad the weather is getting nice out finally 🙂
And, I’m excited for you and marathon number two! 🙂 Hooray for spring!
It took long enough, but worth the wait!
Just keep at it! Pretty much all the Canadian prairies have suffered the same winter as you, so presumably many other IMCA entrants are feeling the same.
As they say in yoga ‘You’re right where you need to be,’ or something along those lines 🙂
It’s been a looooooooong winter! Love that yoga wisdom… one of my favorites 🙂
great words Erin! you will do great. I know it.
Thank you, lovely! xo.
