Week six of Ironman Canada training was kind of a blur, but nonetheless, it’s in the books! Work was out of control (not gonna lie, I’m not.a.fan of 10-hour days), and honestly, last week feels like eons ago. I’m feeling strong, and despite eating dinner every single night at 9p (I fear this will get later as training ramps up), training is a TON of fun! I also met my coach, Joe Moyer of Moyerland and his wife, Anne, for the first time at brunch on Saturday. They’re both awesome, and I’m happy with my coaching choice.
Highlights: Nearly 30 miles of running, the most I’ve logged in probably the past year. There was an interval treadmill rollie pollie run at 8, 7, 6, 5 and 4 percent incline that kicked my butt (channeling spring with polka dots).
… a post-yoga bliss Friday night run in the snow (where is spring, MinneSNOWta?!)…
… a chilly Sunday morning 11-miler (9 degrees!) that ended with a cappuccino at neighborhood gem, Birchwood Café.
… and, inspired by #teamSOAS teammate Page, a super dorky selfie after an hour in the pool. Waterproof mascara needed 🙂
In non-training news…
I started reading Sheryl Sanberg’s new book, Lean In. I’m only a couple chapters in, but already, this is a must-read for every single woman (and, really, guys should read it, too).
On Saturday, Hyedi and I finally caught up over coffee at Parka (if you haven’t had coffee here yet, go immediately. The cappuccino I had was incredible, and the fuchsia espresso machine is gorgeous)! Long overdue, and we had a ton to talk about. Love this inspiring lady!

Next week: Today is the first official rest day (i.e. do nothing, not even active recovery) since I started training six weeks ago. Amazing, yes… but… given what arrives via UPS today, not sure I’ll rest 🙂
Also, a huge congratulations to my #teamSOAS teammate Hailey on her AG WIN at Ironman Los Cabos! Wowza, you are amazing, girl! And, big congrats to SOAS Racing co-founder Steph for her awesome finish at Los Cabos, too! And, to teammate Laura for her great race at Puerto Rico 70.3! So proud to be a member of this team!
Have a super week, friends!
