Lately I’ve been trying to focus on the positive – as much as I’d like, not everything is always rosy + full of bicycling dreams – and a few recent reads have really resonated…
- Sarah’s [extra]ordinary blog post. She never ceases to amaze or inspire me. The direction I’m now looking: Ahead. Wonderful, life-changing, blissful things are just around the corner – and, I don’t want to miss them because my face is buried in my iPhone or my mind is too caught up in yesterday to see them.
- Ignite your fire via lululemon. Fear of failure is no way to live life. I’m committing to happy, committing to being grateful, committing to create and live a life I love. (Don’t get me wrong, my life is quite wonderful, but there are a couple things that need changing.)
- Urban Ninja speaks to my heart. His simple manifesto is exactly how I want to define my life today and everyday. One example: I ditched one of two blow dryers + the flat iron from my morning routine. It’s rather silly, but it’s simplified my life so much.
- Reading Jacki’s hug me into a life check whooshed me back to reality. I see so much of myself in her story. And, I needed to hear it so much that it almost hurts.
- Urban Ninja strikes again with medocrity. This: “Stop being mediocre. There is no try, only do. DO! Stop making excuses and be the best version of yourself. Make the tough choices. Stop telling yourself it’s ok to be mediocre. It’s just not.”
So, I’m doing it, creating the best version of me. I’m letting go of the negative that’s been permeating my life and embracing the positive instead. Because the power of positivity is huge. HUGE! Because radiating positivity is a happiness magnet – it attracts other positive people, extraordinary events and kick-ass, life altering change. Because my less than sparkly attitude needs some serious shining before it slips any further into the segments that are polished and pretty and happy.
So, with a few tweaks – and posting my favorite quote in my planner, at my desk, on the fridge, everywhere as a gentle reminder – sparks will soon be flying… amazing things are just around the corner.
