let’s talk about the minnesnowta weather.

02/17/2016

It’s mid February, folks. And, that means we Minnesnowtans can’t stop talking about the weather (who am I kidding… we always talk about the weather here). Because spring is thisclose!

As much as I like to complain about -30F windchills and heading out for yet another run in the dark, I wouldn’t have it any other way. Minnesnowta is home, and I’m proud to live here.

Turns out, so are a lot of others! Local documentary filmmakers (and brothers) Nick and Chris Libbey of Sparky Stories captured that sentiment – along with some frustration and laughter – while chatting with fellow Minnesnowtans during a recent snowstorm. Have a watch!

And, while weekend temps are forecast to reach 50F(!), don’t get too excited; a snowstorm could be just around the corner…!

I share the same sentiments with Iowa winters 😉 I carry a snow shovel in my Rav. I’m looking forward to the warmer temps predicted for the weekend, but know another snow storm might be just around the corner before winter is truly over. We’ve had snow in the month of May, so no expectations. Heck…it is snowing right now 😉

Smart to carry a shovel in your car… you never know when you’ll need it! I usually have one, too (a gift from my parents after my car got stuck one too many times a few winters ago). Fingers crossed it doesn’t snow in May!

I can’t believe how much snow you got! Usually I feel like we are similar in our winter weather (although we prob get less snow) but we have had barely any snow this winter (and I love it!) I am ready for spring!

We didn’t get much snow this winter… I heard last week 31 inches, which is well below average! I’m ok with that, though 🙂 Hope you’re loving the spring weather!

Now I can’t complain about Colorado winters 😉 70 today but snow next week!

Very impressive! I have to say, this is my first ‘real’ winter in the longest time, and it’s been so mild in Colorado recently. Actually, everyone is freaking out – afraid that the snow season has passed or won’t last as long as people were hoping.

We definitely didn’t have that cold of a winter or get that much snow! I’m ok with it, though I do love a good snowstorm (this was one of two we got this year) 🙂 Hope you’re having a great spring so far and are able to get outside!
