Four names other people call me other than my real name.
e.
ek.
Bezba – the nickname my dad gave me as a kid.
(Yes, this is only three, but I can’t think of another one.)

Four jobs I’ve had.
Lifeguard + pool manager.
Newspaper editor + reporter.
Energy industry consultant.
lululemon educator.

Four movies I’ve watched more than once.
The Holiday.
Forrest Gump.
Love & Other Drugs.
Fight Club.

Four books I recommend.
Swimming to Antarctica by Lynne Cox.
Daring Greatly by Brené Brown.
The Fire Starter Sessions by Danielle LaPorte.
Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand.

Four places I’ve lived.
Um, Minnesota? Maybe it’s time to branch out. Nick?
Hallock, Minnesota – my hometown, 20 miles south of the Canadian border.
Morris, Minnesota – college at the University of Minnesota.
Alexandria, Minnesota – for my second post-college job.
Saint Paul, Minnesota – one of my favorite cities.

Four places I’ve been.
Vancouver – one of my other favorite cities (I’d live there in a second). Visited once for a work trip/solo after the conference (first pic) and once with Nick after Ironman Canada (second pic).
Costa Rica – a solo eight-day adventure when I was 30 (third pic)!
England – I studied abroad in York my senior year of college.
Bahamas –  we sailed with six friends on a private cat (it was amazing… fourth pic).

Four places I’d rather be right now.
Considering it was 7 degrees on my run this morning, I’d love to be anywhere it’s sunny and warm! My top picks:
Maldives. Hello, hut on stilts over turquoise water!
Norway (ok, so this isn’t exactly tropical, but I’m half Norwegian, so it’s tops on my must-visit list).
Patagonia (ok, this isn’t beachy warm, either, but it’s equally incredible).
Hawaii, obviously.

Four of my favorite foods.
Avocado.
All things coconut.
Guava kombucha.
The 112 Eatery burger (and butterscotch budino!).

Four things I don’t eat.
Fast food. Yuck.
Frozen lunches from a box (why?! Eat real food).
Pasta.
Olives.

Four TV shows I watch.
Parenthood. (Who else is sad this is the farewell season?!)
Property Brothers.
The Voice.
Jimmy Fallon (duh).

Four things I’m looking forward to this year.
Ironman Wisconsin round two!
A spring 140.6(?!).
Spending a week in Big Sky next summer with my family.
Living a more fulfilling life.

Four things I always say.
Believe.
Never give up.
Let’s go bike!
And, this is one Nick tells me all. the. time: You choose.

I’m not going to tag anyone, but feel free to link up if you like!

Fun! I love stuff like this. You learn so much about your favorite bloggers (and about yourself)!

And also, after I’m finished devouring Gilmore Girls, Parenthood is next on my list. That Lauren Graham is adorbs.

Most of where I’ve lived is in Iowa, so I know how you feel. I only lived in St. Louis Park, MN for 3 months during a summer internship. I think it might be time to make some changes…

Per your recommendation, I just started reading Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand, but I also want to read The Fire Starter Sessions and Swimming to Antarctica. I love having a reading list, so thanks for the suggestions 😉

I love Kombucha (which is evident since I drink one everyday) and avocado is definitely up there on my top fave foods 🙂

Thanks for sharing! It is fun to learn more about others this way 🙂

This is so fun! I didn’t know you were plotting a spring 140.6! I am also dying to go to Patagonia 🙂 I’m going to do this, too!

Great post! I will be interesting in seeing if you do a spring IM and where you will choose!
I like Laura Hillenbrand. I will have to check them one out!
    Love the pics too!!

Finally someone else who doesn’t eat pasta! I’m half Italian so it’s kind of a sin in my family to be this way, but I ate way too much of it before swim meets and during college (only thing that was semi-appetizing among the dorm food). And I’m with you on Parenthood–sadly just got into it last season (what was I thinking?!) and now it’s going away.

So cool you travelled Costa Rica solo! I bet it was one of your best life experiences.
A spring 140.6?! Do you have one in mind?
I’m already kicking myself, but Kelly suggested a Hawaii babymoon and I declined. What was I thinking?! You always say YES to Hawaii!

I just started Unbroken! I think I’ve also watched Fight Club more than four times 🙂

    Avocado → YES!!!
I need to start watching Parenthood. New show while on the trainer this winter?? 🙂
    Spring 140.6??? Gasp!!!
I really want to read the Fire Starter Sessions

[…] I have been seeing a lot of little surveys on blogs I have read. I enjoy reading about other people’s lives and thought it would be fun to share some bits about me for a fun, Friday post while I am still in the holiday/vacation mindset. I think next week I will be back to posting more regularly. I think! I saw this survey on Sweet Sweat Life. […]
