giveaway // take the hill triathlon

03/10/2014

UPDATED // 04.22.2014: The winner of the giveaway is Nate S.! Thanks, everyone! Have a great tri season!

——————————–

Though March roared in like a lion, it feels like spring is right around the corner here in Minnesnowta. Everything is finally melting, and Saint Paul city streets are one giant pothole – certainly not ideal for early spring cycling!

Snow + cold aside, the triathlon season is close to kicking off, if it hasn’t already (several of my rad Coeur Sports teammates have already rocked some races), and my first race of the season is fast approaching.

Just two short years ago, Take the Hill Tri at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota, was my first-ever triathlon. Flashback to that day, where I wore tie-dye wunder unders and swam a 10:00+ 500…

take the hill 2012

We all have to start somewhere, right?

This year, in addition to racing it, Nick and I are helping promote the sprint, which benefits Insulindependence, a nonprofit started by Gustavus alum Peter Nerothin, a triathlete and ultra runner who was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. The organization works to help those with diabetes live healthy and active lives – because we all deserve to live healthy and active lives.

If you’re in Minnesota, join us May 3 to to support a great cause and kick off your tri season! Take the Hill is a fun, low-key race – with a pool swim – perfect to dust off the winter cobwebs (never mind that the past two years it’s been around 35 degrees on race day).

Two things because I’d love to race with you! One, register today, and save $10 with the code COEUR. And, two, register below to win a free entry.

Plus, haaaaauuuuuge shout-out to my fantastic team, Coeur Sports, who has generously sponsored the race this year. I know I speak for the entire race planning team: We are all so incredibly grateful for Coeur’s support, so THANK YOU! Supporting local races with good causes… just another reason I love this top-notch company 🙂

Giveaway ends March 19!

Love your first triathlon story! Sounds like a great race for a great cause. If I lived anywhere remotely near there I’d love to join the race and meet you.
I hear you on the potholes. Yikes!

Awesome Coeur Sports partnership! Wish I was in Minnesnowta (and that it wasn’t Derby Day) to join in on the fun!

I LOVE that Coeur Sports is partnering to help make this a successful race!! This might be a race that we have to put on our calendar. I’ll talk with the Iron Hippie and see what he thinks 😉 Thanks for sharing!!

ah, that’s so fun! too bad i’m in ATL, and i can attest that it definitely won’t be 35 degrees in early May. I need to find an intro triathlon; i feel like that’s the only way I’ll be able to make myself start swimming.
