Introducing… my niece, Finley Kathleen!

My amazing sis and her hubs welcomed her to the world on Valentine’s Day. She’s absolutely perfect, and I am in looooove! Auntie-hood is good 🙂

In training news…

It was all about running this week… six runs for my biggest week in months. I logged a lot of miles on the treadmill at the hotel in Cheyenne, including an inclined interval run. The first minute at 7 percent was great, but the next two minutes – and the following three intervals – I was sucking wind and stopped a couple times to catch my breath. Altitude! And, for Sunday’s long run, Sonia and I ran down super icy Summit to the river and back. A chill run, and I was happy to keep my average heart rate at 141.

Sunday rounded out with my longest swim ever… 3,100 yards! About 45 minutes in and midway through a 200 interval, I nearly hit the wall. Note to self: Eat more than just two pieces of gluten-free toast before an hour run and 75-minute swim!

In non-training news…

I worked most of the week in Wyoming. After landing in Denver Tuesday afternoon, it was all I could do to not ditch work and hit the slopes instead. I’m long overdue for some downhill skiing!

And, the bikes were upgraded from the creepy basement where spiders drop down from the ceiling…

…to the living room upstairs.

In heart news… my thyroid test results were perfectly normal – yes! – so that means no more tests and that I’m a-ok. After an anxiety-filled month, this is just… whew.

You already know, Mom! But, I’ll announce on the blog this week 🙂

Some days I’m not sure, either! There hasn’t been enough down time lately, so gotta work on that.
