This week’s highlights…

It was a stressful week – more on that to come – so my workouts were a little more relaxed than normal. But, I still managed to get in three trainer rides, including an early morning spin (hey, girl…). I’m not a huge fan of the trainer, especially in our creepy crawly cold basement – not kidding, a spider has dropped down from the ceiling and dangled just inches from my face – but it feels good to spin out the legs and sweat while watching a movie.

As for running, Sonia and I ran on Monday night. At 11F, it was cold, but it wasn’t windy, so we didn’t freeze our bums off. Running in those temps is actually pretty invigorating! And, if you’re dressed right, you don’t even notice it. Nick and I also ran a quick Summit-Cathedral-Selby loop Saturday morning and got a peak at the Red Bull Crashed Ice race course. It’s gonna be fast!

This week’s non-training highlights…

My first attempt at making lavender candles was a success! Super simple and they smell wonderful.

And, my beautiful sister‘s baby shower! The day turned out perfect, and I am over the moon about the bambino’s arrival (mid to late February… my prediction: February 27!) and becoming an aunt! Isn’t my sis glowing?! 🙂

This week: I’ll be in Charlotte for work Tuesday through Thursday, but will have my running shoes packed and ready to run in 45˚ temps! With a low of -17˚ on Monday and highs barely above zero, it’s a good week to not be in Minnesota 🙂 And, I’ll finally be announcing my 2013 race calendar!

Have a great week, friends!

Anyone else going to Crashed Ice on Saturday?! Stay warm!

Oooo enjoy Charlotte! That picture of you and your sister is adorable! 🙂

Today’s weather makes me wish it would go back to 11 degrees! It also makes me wish I would’ve run outside on Friday when it was almost 40 degrees!

Eleven degrees would feel like a heatwave! Charlotte is great so far… I’m excited to explore via a quick run outside tomorrow morning. Have you been here?

      Aww… thank you 🙂

Thanks for the sweet shout outs, Sis!! I’m currently predicting 02/20 so we are a week different (which could seem like an eternity at the end of pregnancy)! But as the one who is preggo, I can change my prediction based on how I feel, right? 🙂 We’ll get to meet her before we know it!! YAY!

      Of course, Sista! You’re welcome!

She will be here before we know it – and, I *cannot* wait! As your sis, am I allowed to change my prediction? 🙂

Up around Lake Norman (just North of Charlotte) are some great running trails! I lived in Huntersville for 2 years. Also, Cajun Queen (in Charlotte)…best cajun food I’ve ever had! Never been to New Orleans though, it’s on the bucket list! Enjoy the warmer weather!

Thanks for the tips! We have a team dinner tomorrow night, so maybe it’ll be at Cajun Queen! I’m gonna get in a quick run tomorrow morning downtown… excited to explore! Fun that you lived here!

Is a spider taking that picture of you and Nick? How did that happen?!
Crashed Ice is going to be CRAZY! I wish they’d open it up for locals to trial run it.

Ha! They’re big enough so they probably could 🙂

Have you seen the course yet?! It’s insane. I thought there was a trial run for locals… wasn’t there last year?

    your thoughts…
